My work as a process consultant has helped me
see the importance of Leading with Questions.
Leading this way begins to give us tools for dealing
with the change going on around us. Some key aspects
of Leading with Questions include:
- Asking Questions is key to leadership
- It’s healthy and normal not to have
all the answers in a changing world
- Questions empower others
- The questions a leader asks, determines the
information he gets
- Questions make “space”
- Learning to think/create by asking questions
- What are good questions?
- What are bad questions?
Asking Why is usually a bad question
- Questions expose our core beliefs
- EQ and asking questions –
A good question has emotions linked to it
- Understanding the question behind the question
Other topics or areas that are linked to asking
questions and walking through a process include:
- Creativity
Helping a group look at a project, or market
in a new way.
- Facilitating
When help is needed in a group to talk about
changes or issues going on.
- Executive coaching
- Process Consultation
How do we get from here to there with a minimum
of damage and maximizing production?
- Developing the character of your leaders
Without character there is no true leadership.
You will self-destruct.
- Ethics to live by – a formula for success.
